Hello and welcome!

My name is Laura, pleased to meet you. I have been toying with the idea of writing a knitting blog for a little while to go alongside my Etsy shop, FrecklesandYarnShop.

I started knitting about 15 years ago via a YouTube tutorial. Dabbled in it for a few years but really started making garments 5 years ago. Being of a larger size I find cloths uninspiring so have decided to do something about that for myself. I am in the early stages of making my own wardrobe through knitting and sewing. Being dyslexic I take time to read my patterns and frequently have to use good old google to show me knew techniques.

My knitting is a physical representation of how I’m doing mentally at any time. During times of struggle I find sometimes the only thing I can do I knit basic easy patterns. It helps ground me in the present but also lets me escape from the mental torment that I might be suffering at the time. Though right now I doing really well and that also shows as I am taking on new challenges with my knitting. Exciting times!

For this blog I plan to bring you along with me as I , hopefully, create something fun and watch me grow.
