Not perfect

I have finally finished the colour work on my sons Christmas jumper. I didn’t know how to catch the floats at the back so it has three different ways of doing it. I finally settled on ladderback jackard but I think the floats are pulled too tight as the reindeer doesn’t lay flat. For my first attempt at a large colour piece I am pleased this part is done and I have learnt a lot from doing it. Now I just have to knit the rest of the jumper. I have until December 13th as that is when his Christmas jumper day is at school and he wants to wear it. The perfectionist in me is disappointed in how it doesn’t quite sit properly and even when I block it I know it wont lay flat. I am trying to remind myself that I’m chalking this one up to experience and I’m sure I will knit it again for him as he gets bigger.

On the sewing front I made a pair of cropped trousers a few months ago but the crotch was very low so I have taking them to my mums to see if we can adjust it and once I have it sorted we can alter the pattern pieces because I would like to make the trousers again in cord for the winter. Sewing has taken a back seat at the moment as I tend to do it around my mums because there is so much I do not know how to do. Also being dyslexic I find sewing patterns can get a little confusing so she helps me understand them. I find I sew more in the summer. I don’t know why but I gravitate towards summer sewing and winter knitting.
